Quilt for Vets Quilt Show and Country Fair!

On Saturday, September 23rd, Fabrik Emporium hosted the Quilt for Vet's Quilt Show and Country Fair.  It was a difficult task since the Fabrik Emporium is a very rural town in a rural city in a rural county!!!!  We decided that the splashier and more people involved, the more people would attend.

We had 50 quilts made specifically for the Korean War Vets of Wayne County TN.  Each was different, each was lovingly made and a work of art!

Success--many people came for the show and enjoyed the opening ceremonies honoring our vets!!!  Some Korean War vets came to admire the quilts they are to receive on Veteran's Day.  Most of all it was a patriotic celebration honoring our men and women in the service!  The American Legion presented the colors, bagpiper Dennis McMaster played the national anthem, Steve Allbrook, senior advisor to Congresswomen Marsha Blackburn, State Representative David Byrd and County  Executive Jim Mangubat all spoke!

To add to the festivities, we had wonderful music--Gospel Singer Murray Paul Gordon and the Bluegrass Group Picken Crows who both donated their time to our event--thank you all so much.  We had the premier Canjun Food Vendor in our county Dewey's Cajun Shack serving up Cajun food like alligator bites--yummy actually!!!

Then a wonderful selection of vendors completed the day.  Folks enjoyed visiting with community organizations like our Clifton FCE, Butterfly Foundation, Chamber of Commerce, Ladies in Pink, Red Hatters as well as many crafters . . . .  fun, fun, fun!

It was a great day and an honor for us to honor our vets with the show and fair.  So tired, but so satisfied!!!  Patriotism is not dead in Wayne County, TN!!!!
